Educating, Inspiring and Creating Change through the Arts
Uses creative disciplines including drama, visual arts, media and education to inspire, educate and create positive change across Timor-Leste.
The DAME Program harnesses the power of creative arts as tools for social transformation. Through drama workshops, visual arts training, media production, and educational outreach, the program engages communities in critical dialogue about peace, human rights, and social justice. DAME has produced award-winning films including the Domin Nakloke series, recognized at the Monte-Carlo Film Festival. The program trains local artists and educators to use creative methodologies in their own communities, building a sustainable network of cultural change agents across Timor-Leste.
This program is part of Ba Futuru's comprehensive approach to building a peaceful, positive, and productive Timor-Leste. Through interactive, human rights-based training models, arts integration, and community leadership strengthening, we work to create lasting change across all 13 municipalities.
