Creating a Pathway to Ending Domestic and Gender-Based Violence
Addresses violence prevention and access to justice for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence through education and advocacy.
Pathway to Justice creates comprehensive support systems for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence in Timor-Leste. The program trains community leaders, police officers, and justice system actors in survivor-centered approaches. It establishes referral networks connecting survivors to legal aid, counseling, and safe housing. Through community education campaigns, the program challenges harmful social norms that perpetuate violence. Pathway to Justice has trained hundreds of community protection officers and strengthened the capacity of local authorities to respond effectively to cases of gender-based violence.
This program is part of Ba Futuru's comprehensive approach to building a peaceful, positive, and productive Timor-Leste. Through interactive, human rights-based training models, arts integration, and community leadership strengthening, we work to create lasting change across all 13 municipalities.
